  • Is hardware included with Square Online?

    The Square Online Store does not include hardware. You will need to purchase hardware separately from Square or another retailer.


    Here are some of the hardware options that Square offers:


    • Square Reader: This is a small, portable device that plugs into your smartphone or tablet. It allows you to accept payments with chip, contactless, and magstripe cards. 
    • Square Terminal: This is a larger, more powerful device that can be used in a retail store or other business setting. It accepts payments with chip, contactless, and magstripe cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. 
    • Square Stand: This is a stand that holds your smartphone or tablet upright. It also includes a Square Reader, so you can accept payments without having to hold your device. 

    You can also purchase hardware from other retailers, such as Amazon or Best Buy.


    Once you have purchased your hardware, you will need to set it up and connect it to your Square Online Store. You can find instructions on how to do this on the Square website.
